| Quality, condition and bonuses by Rand |

| One of the most overlooked things is quality, condition, and
bonus of both armors and weapons. Ok lets take a look at armor if you have a chest piece that is 72 AF and has 79% quality and is at 95% condition currently this is how it works. Your base AF is only 79% of the displayed AF in this case it would be 56.88 lets call it 57. Now since its current condition is 95% its is only working at 95% effectiveness. Subtracting 5% from your newly calculated af will show you that your current AF for this item is only 54. As soon as you go repair it it will go back to almost 57 but be aware with this lower quality on the item it may take a substantial amount of durability when repairing. Keep in mind also that the Con of equipment can also play factor you may notice this as you level your wearing the same equipment but you just gained 4 or 5 af when you leveled this is the reason why. I do not know the specifics on how much con effects at what levels. It is also possible that you could hit a level limit for your class and when you level you may also gain some then as well. If anyone has more infor on this paticular item please post it. OK but what about bonus's is it worth it or not? The Answer is most definitely they can be a huge help. lets say your fighting this monster all the numbers are calculated what its chances to hit are vs your con and your af of the paticular part of the boddy it swung at lets say the chest again and your 54 af for that area of the body. when something takes a swing one of the first things that is determined is where its swinging head chest legs etc.. It has a higher probability to hit the chest and legs then it does smaller areas like feet or hands. The enemies chance to hit is then taken against wahtever your af is for that spot. at this point lets say for this paticular enemy he had a 75% chance to hit you. now if said chest only had a 5% bonus now his chance to hit just dropped to 70%. If you had a chest with a 20% bonus he would only have 55% chance to hit. Bonus on items generally has a very big impact on when you are being hit and how often its definitely owrth it and has even more value then a few af difference. The same basic principle works for weapons only its determining your chance to hit rathere then you chance to be missed. |
